Fancy Blue
Fancy blue diamonds are among the rarest and most valuable colored diamonds. Their colors range from light blue to dark blue, with the following gradations:
									 Faint Blue
									 Very Light Blue
									 Light Blue
									 Fancy Light Blue
									 Fancy Blue
									 Fancy Intense Blue
									 Fancy Dark Blue
									 Fancy Deep Blue
									 Fancy Vivid Blue

Some blue diamonds may also exhibit traces of green or grey. The distinctive blue tint of these diamonds is primarily due to the presence of boron, with hydrogen and nitrogen also contributing. One of the most famous fancy blue diamonds in the world is the Hope Diamond, which weighs over 45 carats.
Blue diamonds are formed when boron becomes trapped in the diamond’s matrix during its formation. Typically, blue diamonds contain negligible nitrogen impurities.
Blue diamonds are an excellent choice for adding to your diamond collection and look especially striking when set in platinum or white gold settings.
